Shark of the Month 2025

August is Shark month on GORE with movies selected by our resident Shark Expert Dreadly. We spend the month doing two important things. Firstly, covering one of horror’s fastest rising (in quantity) subgenres: Shark Horror. Constantly referred to as a place we will never fully discover, the ocean houses many different species and plant life. Because of its mystery and darkness it conjures many fears. Jaws was released more than 50 years ago and is a beautiful cinematic experience of horror that caused some serious inadvertent damage to the universe of the shark. Many films tried to capture the magic of what I like to call “Seafood Movies” and unintentionally added to the fear, misunderstanding, and even hatred of sharks. So the second and more important thing we like to do is promoting shark charities, in particular Shark Angels. For your donation they allow you to adopt a shark of your choosing and receive an adorable matching stuffie. A Cabin By Any Other Name… Would Still Scare Me

When the season gets too hot and it’s time to get away. There’ll be a cabin in the woods with peace and quiet promised under its roof. A place where we can truly relax or so we think. For the month of July we are celebrating cabin movies on GORE with 2002’s Cabin Fever and 2012’s The Cabin in the Woods. Ironically equal in cult classic status and in the divisiveness of the vox populi, as well as my cohosts. I could prattle on about The Evil Dead movies and just about every Friday the 13th Part whatever but instead, I’ve brought some slightly unconventional summery cabin-in-woodsesque recommentals. Horror Shows: Coming Soon to a Channel Near Your Couch

We should always look at shows as a long form way to tell stories. Movies have been the way we told elegant, self contained stories for a long time. But for some stories we need the creators to colour outside the lines. We deserve not only that intricate woven tapestry of a world we want to live inside, but also the time to live in that world and savour it. And being a horror fan these are the worlds I want to live in (not literally):

Predator: Killer of Killers – Released on June 6th! Streaming on Hulu NOW! Get to the Hulu now!

Alien: Earth – Set to premiere on FX and FX on Hulu with the first two episodes on August 12, 2025. Subsequent episodes of the eight-episode season will be released weekly.

Crystal Lake – Releasing Octoberish on the Peacock.

IT: Welcome to Derry – Releasing late 2025 on ‘HBO?’ The series will have three seasons, each season taking place in a different time period within Derry.
